The origins of Alternative Power Distribution go back over 16 years to the summer of 1992, when company co-owner Leif Juell installed his first solar system in the mountains of Colorado.  Several hundred installed systems later Leif is president of our sister company Alternative Power Enterprise, a full service solar design, sales and installation provider.

Leif's experience installing the Sunda line of solar thermal collectors convinced him of the products' high quality and superior performance.  Together with co-owner Jim Henehgan, a separate company, APD, was formed to meet the rapidly growing needs of the solar thermal industry.  Today APD is the company of choice for product training, support, system design and engineering, with a focus on customer service.
