The Seido 1 is our most popular and economical thermal collector.  It utilizes evacuated tube technology with a heat pipe design. This makes for a simple and rapid installation requiring only one person. Both closed loop and drainback configurations are possible. A unique feature of the Seido 1 is the ability to rotate individual tubes and the enclosed flat absorber surface.  This provides a great deal of flexibility using roof orientations that do not face south.  This adjustment can be made easily by hand, no tools required. 

Each Seido Tube is 4 inches across to allow for an extra large absorber surface and produce maximum BTU’s. This tube diameter was developed to achieve high performance and minimize installation time and materials. Virtually all other evacuated tube manufacturers use a much smaller diameter tube and require nearly twice as many tubes to generate similar performance.

The Seido 1 is available with two header options, both cylindrical in shape. The standard header has a smooth aluminum finish in brown.  The 'AS' header is of rugged extruded aluminum construction with a modern silver finish.  Please refer to sizing and design help, or contact APD.
